Summary: Raissa's first memory of ever being alone was in the orphanage she grew up in. No on really enjoyed spending time with the sad girl because well orphanage's weren't the best places to make friends and Raissa wasn't interested in having that mutual relationship. Raissa was never told of her parents, she asked about them constantly to the orphanage headmaster but he would never give her a straight answer. He always said she was to young to tell. Raissa dreamed day and night of being free from the orphanage of having what she long for most..Family. Other children came into the orphanage and went back out like clock work, none stayed for very long. Raissa was actually the only member of the nameless orphanage that had lived there for so many years. At one point, the orphanage had to push her out of their system because she was getting to old.
No one really likes being out in the streets, who would. Its cold, dirty and more lonely than an orphanage. Raissa was never told any information of her parents, but when she had turned 14 she shifted. She had no idea what was happening to her, it was painful, it hurt more than a burn or being stabbed. Once it was complete she ran, or tried to run, and ended up laying on her side for over an hour just trying to breath. Raissa could feel herself being drawn towards something, a better and bigger place. Could it be her family? She wanted to get up and go to the calling but by the time she found the strength to do so she was already shifting back. It had been many years since then, and Raissa had never been one to say that she enjoyed being what she was, but it was a trait she had to learn. She was teaching herself about it, and from what she had gathered she was a pure blood.
Raissa had always felt the wolf inside of her, scratching away inside of her. It was always there, guiding her, trying to make her into a stronger person. Even the strongest of wills was broken at one point. A broken soul is a useless soul, and Raissa could say that even Death had a broken soul. It was on her 23rd birthday that...Death's icy touch was wrapped around her very soul. Every homeless person has "rounds" that they make going through and through to find food and some sort of shelter. It was an icy, yet clear starry night. Raissa was just starting to warm up to the idea of being a wereling, or a thing as she called herself. Walking among the forest of half dead trees Raissa was stopped by a shout, it wasn't to far behind her..no not far at all. The voice sent chills down her spine, it made her quake to her very core. The male voice had said only one word; Monster. The word monster had her turning towards him, her instinct should of been to run but she had been...calling herself that for so long that someone else saying it to her made her want to see. The man was tall, taller than Raissa who was only 5'5", he almost lumbered over her and what he did next made her almost wish she had run.
The hardened blade of steel, covered in a thin layer of silver was slipped deep into Raissa's flesh, right against her uterus and the man with the cold grey eyes yanked the blade across her and pulled it out. Warm, thick blood ran down the front of her pants, and out of her fingers. Her mouth was open and her eyes were wide in pain, the pain was worse than she could of imagined. She was holding in her guts and womanly parts with her hand. Raissa stared at the man with cold grey eyes as he grabbed her hair and was preparing to cut off her head. He kept babbling something about monsters, and how she was one. Raissa had never felt so much fear, and she was starting to loose consciousness from the loss of blood. Raissa didn't remember much of what happened next, only blurry bits and pieces.
Something happened that night, something that she would never be able to explain. As death's cold touch began to chill her body, calling her to the place she felt so loved, calling her to her family it was gone just before it started. Somebody was forcing hot liquid down her throat making her drink, forcing her wounds to heal. It felt like a dream, Raissa knew that she had been on the brink of death, she had seen death and it wasn't her friend. Death was a lie to her, and so was any place he had planned to take her. Who ever had helped Raissa certainly didn't want to be known, he or she ran off without a word of advice or a note. Raissa spent many hours throughout that day fighting with herself, trying to learn about herself and she finally decided it was time to find a family of her own.
Example Post: Raissa walked through the grime flecked alley way, her soft brown eyes were cool and alert. She had been trying to backtrack her way to her home for over an hour now. I shouldn't of taken that left turn. Raissa thought angrily, but now it was to late to turn back. Raissa pulled her over worn black jacket tighter around her shoulders and shivered as the cold wind pierced her to the bone. She shivered as it was to cold for her to be wandering, and she had not eaten. Raissa felt a little sick to her stomach, but she quietly walked on. New scents kept going by and by making her want to stop follow them. The ones that stood out to her the most was food.
Baking chicken, frying steak, mashed potatoes..Raissa's stomach rumbled but she pressed on. Maybe its time for me to move on.. She thought but the idea made her stop in fear, she couldn't move on. What would she move on to? Death? That thought made her whole body stiffen and she had to shut her eyes to ignore the ghostly pain she felt. She pressed her fingers to her stomach, and sighed softly before turning back down the opposite alley and walking forward. It was starting to get dark, and that's one thing she didn't like. Raissa sighed and stopped on the next alley pausing for a breath. Raissa took in a long breath and her heart almost stop in her chest.
That scent.. Raissa knew the scent, she knew it. It sent her almost into hyperventalation, she took in a deep breath trying to calm down. She knew the scent, she knew it, but she couldn't place her finger on it. Raissa drew in another deep breath and ran her fingers through her long brown hair it tangling her fingers at the end. She impatiently jerked her fingers through it and let some loose strands of hair float to the cold ground. Raissa turned towards the scent slowly began walking down the dark grimey alley way. Where did this lead? Who would be down there? Was anyone even there? What would happen if i found my savior?
Raissa continued to follow the scent but stopped half way through her journey, she needed to take a breather. Excitement was coursing through her veins, making her shake. Raissa suddenly was self conscious about her appearance. Raissa quickly ran her fingers through her hair again trying to straighten out the waves and rubbed her face with her jacket trying to look a little bit more cleanly. She straightened out her white blouse smoothing the front of it and then pulling her jeans a little bit to smooth them out. She glanced down the dark alley way and closed her eyes for a long moment. This was it, her destiny was awaiting her. Nothing but death could take her away from this quest. The thought of death made her heart pound and ice run through her veins, but it was replaced with a warmth...a warmth of family. This was it..her destiny. Raissa once more swiped her long fingers through her hair, a small smile coming to her pink lips her brown eyes full of curiosity..she moved on.
