The tall, graceful man rummaged through the clothes that were splayed out across the hotel’s queen sized bed. The heater within the cheap hotel had quit working, causing Ignis’s own breath to become visible upon the cold air. His taught muscles rippled as he shivered. Cold droplets of water slid along his body and caressed the lines of his muscles like cold, chilly fingers. Irritation shone within his usually gentle eyes as he attempted to dry off his chest a little using the blanket. He’d called the front desk requesting some towels, and had been met at the door by a petite blond who, after letting him know that they were out of towels at the moment, had flirted relentlessly in an attempt to slip into his room. He’d driven her away politely, using his gentle, but firm tone he’d used to get his way from what he could remember of his life. Slipping a button down black flannel shirt over his tanned skin he quickly buttoned it up before slipping into his expensive jeans. Deciding that anywhere would be warmer than here, he slipped on his worn out Nike’s and a black jacket before slipping out into the snow covered night.
Snow crunched beneath his feet, and feeling as if he were supposed to go somewhere, he moved at a brisk pace with his head lowered, causing his chocolate brown eyes to be cast into shadow. Christmas lights were strung above stores and apartment buildings. Parents that were out searching for gifts for their children hurried about with pockets full of money. People called out to each other, and lovers strolled hand in hand. The cheerful sight made Ignis’s usual sad mood worsen, and gritting his teeth he continued on through the area in search of someplace to step into, and hopefully warm up. It was then the noise made it to his ears, and believing a drink was exactly what he needed tonight he waited in line for a few minutes before being let in the place called Rapture.
Some female eyes immediately drew to him, but he met none of them and instead headed towards the bar as the need to lose himself grew. Ignis planned on staying most of the night, especially since this place was warm with the body heat of dancing couples and there was also the promise of getting drunk. Lowering himself onto a stool he flashed a smile at the bar tender as she approached. Her steps faltered and her face heated up as she looked upon him. The smile on his face became softer, and the lass got a hold of herself and approached him with a sexy smile. “What’ll it be, sir?”
“The strongest stuff you got.” Ignis watched as she moved to pour the golden liquid into his glass, and as soon as it touched the bar he grabbed it and tipped it eagerly to his thirsty mouth.
