Their eyes shine in the moon’s light as they fight. Their movements are fluid, smooth, and predatory. Lean, taunt muscles lay beneath different colors of fur and sharp incisors are visible beneath black gums. Blood spatters over their beautiful coats and color the ground red as they snap, tear, and wound each other.

Fur standing on end, you approach the two groups as they pause and separate as they take notice of your presence. Two pairs of eyes stand out to you and unnerve you. Both seemed to draw the respect out of you without your consent as you lower your head and tuck your tail between your legs. Power radiated from them both, and you’re unsure whether it was the large, dark grey male with golden eyes, or the black female with bright green eyes that had the strongest air to them. They both stood across from each other, and large groups of other wolves and Werelings in human forms stand on each side behind them. All of their eyes bore into you and you stop as you stand before the two obvious leaders.

Your muscles tense and they begin to shake as your wolf side slowly draws you towards one side, your true nature, good or evil, slowly reveals itself as you make your decision. Which side will you choose? Will you choose the path of light and good? Or the path of dark and evil?

1 With Your Permission on Wed Dec 18, 2013 4:50 am

Ryker stood in the elevator, hands in the pockets of his black slacks and eyes staring at nothing.  All the thoughts whirling through his head made concentrating on any one of them exceedingly difficult.  The nerves tingling all through his body were not exactly helping, either.  Of course, he knew that Noctavia had told him that she would support him in something like this, but now that the time came, he could not help but wonder how she would react.  So far as he knew, he and Elay were the only ones in the pack.  There was Liam, yes, but he had not made very much of a name for himself, as of yet.  But Ryker himself was Beta, and Elay had recently been promoted to Delta, so it was safe to say that they were fairly prominent figures in the pack.  He would like to think that those things would not change Noctavia’s perspective, but who could say?

The ding of the elevator roused him from his thoughts and he glanced up at the floor indicator, unbelieving that it had already reached the top of the building.  Stepping out onto the penthouse level, he adjusted the midnight blue vest that he wore for perhaps the twelfth time and firmly knocked on the Alphess’s door.  She did tell us that she was supportive, Dante reminded him.  Ryker gave a short nod.  I know, but I still can’t help but be nervous.  I’m not used to this sort of thing being accepted, he replied.

Once the door was opened, Ryker dipped his head in a short bow, then grinned at Noctavia.  “My Alphess, you’re as radiantly beautiful as ever,” he greeted with only a slight bit of cheek.  “Do you have a minute to talk?” he asked, doing his best to quell his nervousness, even though he was pretty sure that she’d be able to smell it, if not see and hear it.  “If…If you’re busy, I could come back tomorrow or later this evening.”  Stop rambling, Dante growled, forcing Ryker to give a small, self-depreciating chuckle.  “Ah, I’m sorry, I’m rambling,” he apologized, smiling somewhat sheepishly at Noctavia.

[-cues Drama bomb- ;D]

Intertwined together, locked pale fingers set close against the lying lips of a beautiful being, seeing over the choices that lay before her while her eyes rested upon the white stick that sat on the sink's neighboring right side counter. She stared at it in disbelief, yet said nothing as her mouth could not form the direct words as to what she thought in those small, utmost silent seconds. A light blue plus sign showed within the circle opening inside the stick, senselessly glancing back at her to make her stomach turn in ways she had not felt close to never before. A pair of two perfectly green emeralds slowly were closed so she didn't have to see the image, but of the black, dark sight of her eyelids shutting while her hands parted to cup over her eyes and fingers rake just at the roots of her long obsidian lochs. Her posture was poorly displayed, though in her mind it was almost as if she could feel the pressure build and be dragged on her shoulders to sink like an anchor is to the water. ...This is your fault... ...we told you this would happen if we were not careful around the Delta... and now you've failed at not only being a leader... but will also fail at being a mother to the children you are now to conceive... She drew a long breath at the sound of her thoughts colliding as if they were at war in her mind, damaging the barriers and killing everything in their path to lead her in the right direction, ...Hold your head high, before we make you... This is not how an Alpha should act... As much as she wished to deny that her voices were incorrect, they were indeed true, causing her to feel irritated and clutch the roots of her hair tightly before acting out to her emotions. Her teeth bared long and sharp behind her lips, clenched together strong to hold back the nerve of getting up from her spot and growling as loud as her voice could reach for it was the only way to release her anger asides from killing a thing or two to whatever got in her way.

Noctavia's eyes flashed as they snapped open to register the same bright glow of her bathroom's light, but it then felt hazy and almost dizzy to when she decided to stand quickly. Grabbing at the sink's end, she heard a loud noise inside it before she realized how much strength she was gripping at and stopped herself all together as a knock on her door sounded within her eardrums. Placing a hand over her nauseous stomach, she pressed firmly and took a large breath to keep it down, shaking away the thoughts to remain calm and collected so that she would not submit to throwing up the remnants of her last meal. Her eyes looked back to the mirror to reveal her pale complexion staring through her, fixing her long hair to flatten like it had before and a quick dab of light foundation to cover the dark circles under her eyes so it did not appear as if she had not been receiving enough sleep, "I'm coming!" She called out to the waiting figure behind her door as she walked out of the bathroom and flipped the lights off. Noctavia turned once her head to peer over her shoulder to see the stick still on the sink's side, lowering her gaze to the floor and back up to meet the door's opposing side. Fidgeting with the material of her outfit, she opened the main door to her suite to be greeted with a friendly familiar face that made her features brighten with a relieved grin, "Of course. You know I'm always willing to speak with you, Ryker, especially. You're not bothering me at all, in fact, I'm quite glad to see you rather than anyone else at the moment..." Looking over his shoulder as he walked in through, Noctavia craned her neck to see on both sides of the single roomed hall and to the elevator doors, then closed hers to curiously eye Ryker, "Where's Elay? I thought he would be with you." For once her brows rose as they saw the Beta in a worried and uneasy state, foreign to the image for which she had never seen him like this. Her eyes traveled slowly till they met his and nodded in agreement to his feelings as she was too the same in those moments, walking forwards to wrap her arms around him and set her face at the center of his chest, "I already know of what you wished to speak about... Ryker.. but before we can go to the topic, I must tell you something very important that no one else knows about, not even Daiken." Loosening her arms, she backed up once and sighed deeply, a shaky breath to be drawn, but cutting short for her to look up and open her quivering lips to speak,

"I'm pregnant.."

Ryker took a steadying breath as he heard Noctavia’s shouted reply.  He smiled slightly.  It seemed like he always managed to catch her while she was doing something.  Ah well, fortuitous timing.  He had to admit, though, that when she did open the door, she did look a little bit worse for wear.  Shortly after the door opened, though, a wave of scent hit him and he blinked.  It was the strong, feminine smell that he expected, but there was another’s scent, intermingling with it and he grinned broadly before giving his greeting.  He recognized that scent from his recent sparring match.

He blinked as she peered over his shoulder, then laughed slightly as she stuck her head out the door.  “I, uh, thought it’d be better if I came on my own, actually.”  He could tell that there was something different about the Alphess.  She felt different, and not just because of Daiken’s scent permeating the room.  And her, he realized as she moved forward and wrapped him in a hug.  Slightly uncertain, he placed his arms carefully over her back and returned the hug.  “Are…Is everything alright?” he asked.  How did she know what he wanted to talk to her about?  So far, no one knew about him and Elay except for Vitani.  Perhaps she told her sister?  However, it would have to wait, as there was apparently something rather pressing that she wanted to talk about.  Balancing carefully, he reached back with his foot and carefully pushed the door shut.

Her news, so plainly and bluntly delivered, caught him by surprise.  He hadn’t even realized that she and Daiken had been mated.  However, once his mind processed that bit, he broke into a wide grin and stepped forwards, hugging her once more and laughing lightly.  “Noctavia, that’s wonderful!” he said.  Letting go and taking a step back, he grinned and took another test of the air, just to make sure he didn’t make a mistake.  “Please give, I suppose Alpha Daiken?  Please give him my congratulations, once you tell him.  Is…Is there something that I’m missing, though?  I know it’s a big change, but you don’t seem very happy about it.”  He cocked his head slightly, studying her carefully and dissecting the nuances of her scent as carefully as he could.

Her eyes slightly widened at the hug before she was brought back down to her stands, peering up at him warily as she had no idea how to respond or even react to his happiness. From her point of view, it did not sound so wonderful, but in another sense, she could barely recognize her thoughts to how they played so distractedly towards the situation at hand. She was not ready for such a commitment, especially after being alone for several beyond years, why now was her life already crumbling from the inside out? A child on top of it all to worry about when she had a pack to run, and the unfortunate moment of Daiken coincidentally being gone did not make her feel any better. Who would patrol the borders? The what if questions started to jumble up and fog a light cloudy green in her eyes, flattening her lips into a confused frown, "I'll be sure to tell him once he notices to whenever he returns from his work, but that is the least of my worries for the moment.. I-.. But the thing is, Ryker, is.." Her voice started to trail the closer her wolves edge into her business to growl in protest against her thoughts. She couldn't believe she was actually saying it, but what else was there to really feel?

"-I'm afraid." Her eyes peered deeply into his while her fists balled at her sides, the spite of fiery green flames rising in her orbs while her counterpart snarled with frustration. But she knew to calm herself before it got out of hand. She hated the sound of her admitting her fear, and knew it would come to haunt her one of these days if she were not to be careful. "This was not at all my intentions when wanting to be with Daiken, nor did I ever plan on becoming pregnant with a vile creature inside me. I'm afraid that with this child, I won't be able to protect the pack I have, and Daiken will not want it as much as I do or don't right now. Looking at myself now, I know that the fetus will be blessed with my lines of blood, all the while holding Daiken's bloodline, but-... I don't want it to change me as a person.. at all, actually. To begin with, from when I was a much younger wereling, I never, absolutely ever wanted to have a child, and now I am to have one. I will not kill it if that is what you might think of me, but it will take a while before I accept it as my own..." She said, keeping her voice at a normal, indoors level and slow enough so Ryker could begin to comprehend what she meant by it all. Sweeping her hand over her face to rub the side of her cheek, she sighed deeply and looked down to her stomach with distaste. She hated it, and now soon there will be another walking figure of her blood pacing around the room and grow to a monster, "I apologize for dumping all this on you so quickly, but I want you to know how I feel, and sometimes blurting it out kind helps my mind to clear, I guess. But before we can go really into detail," As she said this, her hand waved on for him to continue, meanwhile she worked slowly around the couch to sit at the end and make room for him as well if he wished to sit, "Elay has decided to visit me, not too long ago actually. He says you two have been spending a lot of time together, and well, I got the picture right then and there. The thing I'm upset about is..., why the Hell didn't you tell me!?" Noctavia said, widening her eyes at him with complete seriousness.

Ryker frowned slightly as his enthusiasm for Noctavia’s news was dashed against a brick wall. Wasn’t having children with one’s mate usually a happy occurrence? He blinked at those two words. I’m afraid. He saw the intensity of her emotions rippling through her body and decided to take a chance. Reaching out, he gently took hold of her hand and held it between both of his. “Alphess, if there is a single wereling in this entire pack that can manage to have a child and keep the pack the way it is, she is you.” He smiled warmly at her. “I’m sure I don’t need to remind you what a fantastic man Alpha Daiken is. I know that he will care for his child just as much as he cares for you. Having a child will change things, but it will not change who you are.” He chuckled slightly. “In fact, I’m of the opinion that there’s not a force in all the universe that could do that. But you’re not alone in this, Alphess Noctavia. You have as much help as you could ask for. I’ve seen how much the Alpha cares for you. I’m not…great with kids, but you know that I will help you as much as I can. Plus, you have an entire pack, loyal to you.

He let go of her hand and smiled encouragingly. “It may take some time to get used to, but there is not a doubt in my mind that you will make a wonderful mother,” he said. He opened his thoughts to her, so she could feel the sincerity that he felt. He moved around the couch with her and waited until she was seated before taking a seat for himself. “Don’t apologize, I’m glad to help however I can, even it is just someone for you to vent to and sort out your thoughts.” He grew slightly still at the mention of Elay’s name, though, and folded his hands in his lap. Her reaction, though, caught him slightly off guard.

I—Well, I’ve been a little busy, I guess.” Chuckling, he took a breath to sort out his own thoughts. “Mostly, though, I just wanted to make sure that there was something real there. I didn’t want to bother you for an infatuation, after all.” He grinned over at her, hardly believing the words that were about to come out of his mouth. “But it is real, Noctavia. Everything feels fine when he’s with me. He’s charming, he’s fun, he’s handsome, he’s…I dunno, wonderful.” Fixing his black gaze squarely on Noctavia, Ryker composed himself, though a small grin crept through. “I love him, Alphess, and I would like to ask your blessing to ask him to be my mate.

She scoffed once, trying hardest not to laugh before him over her tad bit of nervousness, "Great, because you're the godfather of her.. or uh.. him.. it." Her mood softened slightly, but her thoughts as to when and how she would react to the child once it would be brought to the outer would still remained the same. He certainly was insane by putting himself out there and taking her hand to ease her mind, she had always liked that about him, even since the beginning she knew she was right in putting him as her Beta, "Thank you, Ryker. It means a lot to hear you say that. Really You have no idea what's been going through my head since I found out, and it's still not making its way all the way to my mind to take in. Hopefully overnight it'll finally break open and I'll come to a finalized realization of what to make of it all." She chuckled slightly, watching him sit down and slowly unraveling his whereabouts in return to her slightly degree feelings towards what he's been doing all this time without her knowing. Noctavia looked him over with a meaningful filled glance, dismissing any idea to what had come over the male, as she knew exactly how he felt.

It was strange to see how much they've altered alone throughout their time in her power. A smile curled at her lips as she could still remember it like yesterday where she saw his dashing smirk rise to her presence in greetings, the lasting words of his Irish drawl while both of them stood in two similar sweatshirts. She couldn't believe that even then she would ever be so close to the male like she was today. Ryker meant a lot to her in this case, which caused the Alphess to feel immediately at home in his presence, let alone able to say whatever she wanted for his in return, "Ryker, now what kind of friend would I be if I never allowed you to go through with becoming his mate? Of course Elay and you can be together. I already know of his feelings towards you, and they are strong. You need not to worry, but I ask you this.. Do you now know how I feel about when Daiken is nearest to me? It's like I've been warped into another dimension where only him and I are on earth, no one around to be there to tell us what to do and what we can't do. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me. And now that he's gone, it feels as if a part of me is missing, as weird and cliche as that might sound, but... I love him, just as you do for Elay." Sincerity shined brightly in her dark emeralds as she looked to him in a whole another way, smiling widely to get up and wrap her arms around him tightly before letting go as she almost found herself getting dizzy and stomach a bit upset. Don't do it... don't throw up.. Finding her steadiness, Noctavia sat up and removed a piece of her hair from her eyes to see him with a soft smile, "Yes, Ryker. You have my permission, you always have. You're family to me now" Grinning over to him, her smile widened, only this time she stayed still for the sake of her stomach's flips and turns. This was going to end badly once he left, she knew that for sure. Peachy..

Ryker grimaced slightly when Noctavia called her child an “it.” That habit was not going to help her start thinking of the child growing in her womb as her own. He kept his silence, though, believing that he had toed the line enough for one evening. He nodded his head in response to her words. “Of course, Noctavia. And you know, I hope, that I mean every word of it. A good night’s sleep will help clear your head, but you have to promise me that you are actually going to get a good night’s sleep. I’ll handle patrols for at least tonight.

He couldn’t help but grin slightly at her response and he could feel Dante straight up wagging his tail. While normally fairly aloof from interpersonal relationships, Dante had grown quite fond of Elay and Renner. He nodded his head. “I think I do understand, yes,” he replied. “I couldn’t have imagined how it would feel and now that I know, I would never want it to stop. But, as I said before, Alphess. You have support here. I know that I’m no substitute for Daiken, but if you ever need to talk or just spend some time not thinking about work or the pack, I’ll be glad to give you a hand.” He, too, climbed to his feet as Noctavia stood up and returned her hug, but he frowned slightly as she appeared a little bit worse for wear.

Thank you very much, Alphess Noctavia. I’m honored to consider you family, as well,” he said. “Are you okay, though? Do you need something to drink? When was the last time you ate something?” Perhaps it was because of their little heart-to-heart conversation, or perhaps because he now knew that she was pregnant, but Ryker felt a very strong urge to protect her and do his best to make her comfortable. “Is there anything that I can do?” he asked, peering carefully into her eyes and sniffing the air, studying her scent closely.

"I think what I need is just some fresh air for now. The symptoms are already hitting hard and I certainly am not enjoying myself this morning as it is. I haven't eaten since last night, few hours before I went to bed. But a glass of water would be nice, please." Getting up from her spot with a gentle hand to Ryker's shoulder, she pressed the other to her forehead as her head began to pound, groaning softly to herself at the slight pain in her mind the more the voices started to fill in their commentary. She then walked slowly to the balcony glass door and pushed it little by little open to lean against the frame as the wind blew in to her exposed skin. Noctavia shivered at first before finally breathing in the fresh air, rubbing her runny nose as she had thought to of caught a cold the night before while she was running around the town for gifts. Which reminded her of something.

Averting her green eyes to Ryker over her shoulder, she crossed her arms over her chest loosely so that she would not hurt her sore breasts more than they already were. But she did not complain, for she did not want Ryker personally asking her again as to what was wrong if her face were to make a painful expression, "Ryker... how long have we been friends? Almost a year now?" She asked, turning her gaze to linger over the horizon to where the sun sat just above it, "Why don't you just call me Noctavia? I don't call you Beta all the time..." Tilting her head slightly, she shook her head and sighed again to return back to the conversation he spoke of, "Daiken is not usually one that I would go to first. It's still very new to me with being so near to him and the whole mate scenario. It's very different, if you can understand, so yes, I trust you to be my individual of discussion to where I am free to say anything that's on my mind. It always has been like that, and I do not plan to change. I enjoy our talks, have since the very first and so many after till now. As for Elay, I can only wish you the best of my respects and loyalty to keep you two together. I'm happy to see you've found your match."

Waiting for him to hand her a glass of water, she smiled in thanks and took a sip quietly to herself before continuing, "Now that I'm expecting.. It would be really generous of you and Elay to take border patrols a bit more frequently. I'm afraid that if I am to interview one that I might be hurt in the process. I know for a matter I can defend myself, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. The help would be greatly awarded and appreciated from the two of you." She said softly, peering deeply into his charcoal covered hues to look for certainty for his commitment.

Ryker allowed himself to aid in leverage for Noctavia to stand up, then stood up, himself, and strode to the in-suite kitchen. After guessing incorrectly once, he found the glasses in a cabinet and filled it with cool water. On a second thought, he filled up a glass for himself, as well, and carried them over to where Noctavia leaned against the wall near the balcony door. Ignoring the chill air, he handed her glass to her with a smile. “Well, I just wanted to make sure I didn’t cross any lines, what with you being my boss and all,” he replied, grinning roguishly and tossing out a quick wink.

He offered a short bow, smiling gratefully. “I’m honored that you feel that way, Al—heh, Noctavia. And you do know that you don’t have to wait for me to come to you, right? If you have something you wanna talk about, you know where my room is and I can give you my cell number, if you’d like. Thank you for your consent, too,” he added, feeling a schoolboy-ish quirk creep into his smile. “It’s so strange to think about having a boyfriend, let alone a mate. I kind of feel like back when I was just a lad, stealing extra treats after dinner, except magnified by about a hundred times, of course.

Peering over her shoulder, at the cityscape beyond her balcony, Ryker nodded. “Of course, we’d be more than happy to help out. I’ll coordinate with him to make sure that they’re all covered. You,” he said, nudging her very gently with his hip. “Can just stay here and focus on you.” Taking a sip of his water, Ryker smiled out over the city. “Really, though, I know you’ll do an outstanding job, Noctavia.

She smirked, "Don't you think crossing other territorial lines was enough for going against barriers? I think calling me by my name is much more fitting, especially since I never let anyone else call me by my name other than a rare few, and you would be the first of them, Ryker. But putting all memories behind from that confusing scenario, I must say, it is strange seeing both of us like this." Bringing the glass up to her mouth for another drink, Noctavia stood still with her back pressed into the balcony door frame, eying Ryker out of the corner of her vision while it at a majority rested upon the city heights, "I mean, just the fact I always thought of us staying single, ya know? I'm still trying to recover over the idea of having Daiken as Eternal Darkness's Alpha, but.. I don't know." She shrugged, never knowing how to end that sentence as she really didn't know what to think about it. Noctavia knew her standards and the goals she had yet to live up to, and so far all of them were working other than the slight mishap of actually finding Daiken amongst them. She had thought to remain an independent woman with a wonderful pack, but nothing like this.

"Here." Taking out her phone, she waited patiently for to when he would give her his, switching them so that they could exchange their numbers and necessary information if they ever needed to communicate. Once she was finished, she took hers again and put it away after giving his back, "Now if we ever need each other, all it'll take is a press of a few buttons and a quick call, if not a voicemail." She smiled kindly to him and chuckled, smoothing her hand over her stomach slowly before thinking up of something she had on her mind before. Noctavia pushed her hair out of her face and moved away from the frame to close it as she was getting cold, rubbing her arms to keep warm once it was shut, "A little of yesterday I was gift shopping for Vitani this Christmas and some for my co-workers for the whole secret santa shit they do at work and happen to come across something I thought you'd like.." Sneaking away to the back of her closet, Noctavia reached into one of the drawers to find a small, golden wrapped box with a black bow on top. As she returned, she grinned while handing it to him carefully, shrugging just so he didn't think too much of the present, "It's not much, but the least I could do was get you something. And don't worry about getting me anything, I'm fine with it, I assure you." She chuckled, watching as he looked at the fox pendant she had come across while walking near Time Square. It was cheap, but thanks to some reviews and a couple things she bought for herself at the same store, they seemed to last pretty long, and were durable when running around, "Um.. eh.. merry Christmas, I guess?" She replied awkwardly, not really knowing how to say it for she never used to celebrate many holidays with others.

Ryker chuckled, shaking his head slightly, at the mention of his espionage efforts. “Well, it seemed necessary, at the time, and you did tell me that I had leave to do what I saw fit. You’re right, though, it is a bit strange to think about. Tying the knot and what have you. Though I have faith that Daiken will make a suitable Alpha. A wise man once told me that you do not truly know someone until you fight them. I’ve had a match or two with Daiken and am confident that he will be cut out for the job.

As he entered in his contact information in Noctavia’s phone, making sure it was his personal phone, rather than the one he used for business, he shook his head and laughed slightly. “Why has it taken us a year to get each other’s numbers?” The gold wrapped box caught him fairly by surprise and he looked up at Noctavia, eyebrow arched. “Noctavia, ya really didn’t need to get me anythin’. But thanks very much,” he said, taking the box and opening it, carefully removing the pendant and thin chain from their confines. “Oh, this is lovely,” he said, smiling warmly. Unlatching the chain, he hooked it around his neck, centering the silver round pendant on his chest, just below the collar of his shirt. “How’s it look?” he asked, giving her his best, roguish grin.

Aiding him slightly with the crease of his collar, Noctavia smiled, being pleased to hear his words fill into her ear canals that he at least liked it, rubbing over the pendant before backing up once to put her arms over her chest, "Dashing, as always." She replied in a smooth tone through a smirked grin. Exhaling deeply, the Alphess leveled her gaze to meet up to his gaze, "Honestly? I really don't know." She laughed lightly, pushing her hair out of her face until finally giving in to put it up into a high messy bun. She found no use in trying to find it, but did enjoy the least bit of benefit it gave her in being able to see the Beta as she spoke. Eye contact was a very important thing to her, "I guess it never really occurred to us since we seem to like visiting each other face to face out of surprise appearances. I mean, I would believe that both of us were used to the whole 'no technology thing', I was definitely, so phones is pretty much the least thing that's on my mind. Plus, I like the unexpected visits you give me. Keeps me guessing and on my toes." Noctavia chuckled slightly, nudging him with her head like he had done to her before.

"I'm glad to see not only that you like the gift, but that you've been spending time with Daiken as well before my decision was clear. Maybe you two should both get a little more socialized with each other more often. Ha, maybe sometime we could double date. I like Elay. I've taught him a little hot to image and he's a quick learner." Rolling back her one shoulder, Noctavia rubbed along the joint and sighed slowly under her breath as she shook her head slightly, "N.. Not to pry into any of your plans- but.. um, do you and Elay have any thing special planned for the holidays?" The thought of others this Christmas being together made her a bit depressed truthfully, as she did not have Daiken to be here, only the small presence of what grew inside her. She would be alone, and now that her mate was on his leave to work, a portion of herself felt as if it been temporarily erased.

He chuckled at her analysis of how the necklace looked on him. “Ah, but ya flatter me, lass,” he said, accentuating his accent to near comical proportions. He reached up and brushed a stubborn strand of his own hair back behind his ear as Noctavia dealt with her unruly lochs. “Well, yes, except for the fact that I use technology all the time. Conference calls and emails and electronic reports and whatnot. Although, of course, I’d be happy to keep up with my drop-ins, so long as it keeps ya on top of your game.

He arched an eyebrow when she said that she had taught Elay their little trick with the illusions. Well, there went the mystery of the rose and the butterflies. “I think that Daiken wants to keep sparring,” he said. “It’s certainly good exercise for me, though a bit difficult because he won’t concede defeat until he can’t fight any longer. This tends to cause problems because my style of fighting focuses mostly on breaking and dislocating joints. I assume that you would prefer I not break any of your mate’s bones, right?” He chuckled slightly, his body remembering the pain of not being able to breath while he had strained Daiken’s elbow to the breaking point. He took a deep breath and scratched at the back of his neck. “I think we do?” he replied uncertainly. “He’s dropped hints about things going down, but I’ve not idea what he’s got up his sleeve. Although,” he gave his best Charming Grin, “I’m sure we could find some time to spend with our favorite Alphess.

Noctavia shrugged at the sort of rhetorical question, not really minding it as she didn't know what to make of such a thing, "Break his bones. I would after what he's going to be putting me through in a couple months. Vitani will surely be bouncing off the walls once I explain the news, or, in other terms, not to her, but also the pack." She sighed deeply, taking another lasting drink of her water as she rubbed her head to calm her thoughts. And now she thought of the possibility that she may be coming down with a fever. Reopening her eyes to meet his, she made a soft attempted smirk, "Daiken deserves everything what'll be coming to him once I regain my strength after popping the sucker. Hopefully then he will realize not to leave me alone after doing that. Perhaps a bit more pain to him to get him ready for the finale will do him some good, eh?" She laughed, holding her stomach slightly to stop once it began to swirl, "It's very rare to when I answer my phone, but I'll try to keep on top of it now-a-days if you plan on coming around more frequently to check up on my progress. Knowing my sister, she probably won't let me out of her sight since she'll know she's going to be an aunt. The gender will be a surprise. I don't want anyone to know until I do once its been birthed. Breaking the news to Vitani that I don't want the gender to be identified till the end however.. will be a bit of work." Noctavia laughed once, "Don't worry about me. Spend your time with your mate. You deserve it, and I can take care of myself just fine.. Maybe I can pester some of the hotel employees around to get me food. I swear the cravings I'm having a ridiculous right now." She said humorous as she reminded herself of what she could stay occupied with. Christmas and New Years was nearing, and it wouldn't be long before her stomach will be revealing more of her voluptuous glory. There had to be something she could do to comfort the fetus, or for that matter, her lonesome self.
