Their eyes shine in the moon’s light as they fight. Their movements are fluid, smooth, and predatory. Lean, taunt muscles lay beneath different colors of fur and sharp incisors are visible beneath black gums. Blood spatters over their beautiful coats and color the ground red as they snap, tear, and wound each other.

Fur standing on end, you approach the two groups as they pause and separate as they take notice of your presence. Two pairs of eyes stand out to you and unnerve you. Both seemed to draw the respect out of you without your consent as you lower your head and tuck your tail between your legs. Power radiated from them both, and you’re unsure whether it was the large, dark grey male with golden eyes, or the black female with bright green eyes that had the strongest air to them. They both stood across from each other, and large groups of other wolves and Werelings in human forms stand on each side behind them. All of their eyes bore into you and you stop as you stand before the two obvious leaders.

Your muscles tense and they begin to shake as your wolf side slowly draws you towards one side, your true nature, good or evil, slowly reveals itself as you make your decision. Which side will you choose? Will you choose the path of light and good? Or the path of dark and evil?

Venantium or Eternals?

Dante fought back a yawn. It had been a whole eight hours since he had left. Lucky for him this was the closest pack to where he had been staying with his parents. He had to get out of there everything about the place was driving him crazy and making him high strung. Dante frowned as the old ford Taurus suddenly jerked forward the engine knocking and steaming from under the hood.

"No oh no come on not now," Dante moaned as the car lurched to a slow stop.
Smooth way to go jerk off you over heated it, Sharp growled.
Dante scowled as he climbed out of the car "what are you teething?" Sharp let out a harsh growl as he popped the hood. Stepping around the door he lifted the hood.

Dante muttered waving the steam out of his face "perfect it's just one screw over after another."
This coming from one, Sharp muttered.
"Can't you ever shut up?" Dante sighed looking around the desserted street.
Can't you ever stop talking to yourself in public places, Sharp retorted harshly.
Dante grabbed his bag and med-pack from the back seat "not with you in my head."

Locking the car and shutting the hood he headed down the sidewalk. The lights across the river glinted off the river. Must be pretty nice to live around here, Dante thought looking out towards the beach houses. Then again to live around here must be pretty pricey to. His feet slowed as a new scent tickled his nose.

So this must be the scent of one of the packs around these parts, Sharp growled.
"Well it sure isn't someones terrier," Dante grunted. Noticing a small coffee shop nearby he quickly headed for its door. Even at this time there seemed to be a few people about, though none of them werelings. Going to the counter he ordered himself a cup and sat down at the window.

Hopefully he could think of a way to introduce himself to this pack. He'd never been apart of another pack before so he had no clue what he was doing. Adding some creamer and sugar he stared out the window.
Drink it black left hand, Sharp growled.
"Sometimes I wish I could evict you, you know that," Dante murmured.

The Alphess appeared in the coffee shop and stomped her boots on the carpet. Her beanie covered most of her head and she was huddled in her coat. Looking more like a human than anything, she smiled and said hi to everyone that greeted her. There were the regulars that were fans of the Alphess and knew her ‘well.’ Then there are the tourists, often from other countries though she befriended them simply with speaking their language fluently.

After many greetings were said, Teimhnin finally made her way to the counter. She slid the money to the young barista and he handed her what she usually ordered. The tip of her nose was a pale red, showing the cold that was coming on quickly. She smiled at the barista and took her cup of coffee.

Strange scents reached her nose all the time, some good and some bad. The coffee almost masked the scent of a newcomer werewolf, but it didn’t cover it fully. She caught it the very second her cup tilted towards her and gave her that small whiff of fresh air. The wolf within her listed her ears and they both looked for the source of their curiosity.

Her nose lead her to a wereling sitting alone. Tilting her head, Teimhnin did know this shop was on her borders. She was, after all, doing her rounds of border patrols. Walking over to the wereling, she sat in the seat across from him.

It seemed he had been murmuring to himself, but she understood and knew full well why he was. Holding out her hand Teimhnin smiled and spoke low enough for only him to here. “Welcome to my lands, newcomer. May I ask you name and your reasons for being here?”

He'd been staring out the window for so long it was like his eyes were going to pop out of his skull and roll across the floor. Sharp as always was easily bored and took his boredom out on him by insistently yammering in his head. He'd heard the bell above the door jangle but didn't bother to turn and look.
These stools are making our ass go numb, would you get up and do something, Sharp growled.
"What if I like having a numb ass?" Dante muttered sipping at his coffee.

He scowled as it had gone cold and set it down. Secretly though he did want to get up and do something he just didn't want to give Sharp the satisfaction of being right. Dante looked up with a surprised frown as a woman sank down into the seat across from him. His face slightly colored with embarrassment. Had she heard him talking to himself, did she think he was some unstable nut case who forgot to take his meds?

Oh hey there pretty thing, look at those aqua eyes, Sharp growled.
"She's not yours so shut up and keep your hands to yourself," Dante muttered and then grinned at the woman. It took his a heartbeat before he realized she was a wereling. Dante felt his face fall slightly at her warm greeting. Her lands, she was the alphess!

He never would have guessed she looked so young, and attractive. Dante grabbed his wrist as Sharp tried to make them grabbed her on the knee. God why did he have to try and make a pass at every pretty little thing?
"I said hands to yourself damn it," Dante muttered irritably.
If you wanna let a female like her pass by that's your problem but jump on me about trying to get lucky, Sharp growled.

He grinned at the alphess feeling like a total moron.
Dante shifted nervously holding his hand out "Arlain, Dr. Dante Arlain." He'd never been good in social situations. In fact most people never wanted to be treated by him due to the fact that they thought he was a total psycho.
Dante shrugged his shoulders with a nervous grin "car broke down luckily for me it would seem I've made it to where I was going."

The Alphess’s cheeks were rosy from windburn but she smiled nonetheless. Sipping her drink, she felt herself calm and relax as the warmth traveled its way from her lips to the tips of her toes. Though the warmth wasn’t her focus, her concentration would have to lay on the man in front of her. Teimhnin’s wolf was aware of the attraction his wolf presented, but took no action for she remained loyal to her mate. If anything her confidence was only boosted her self confidence.

Catching what the man said to the wolf, she laughed softly and shook her head in amusement. She waited for it to register in his expression who and what she was, and when it did she could only laugh more. The male was quite an interesting sight, but it didn’t disturb her a bit. His wolf must be of the rambunctious sort, not anything that was much of a big deal.

Her eyes flicked to where he had grabbed his own wrist with a single raised eyebrow. It was then that her wolf decided to make her appearance. Suddenly Teimhnin’s eyes weren’t completely her own. They had grown to a more intense silver, the pale tones behind them belonging to her wolf. Through the ways of mind-speak, she growled at Dante’s wolf. ‘Lets get one thing straight, you aren’t getting me. My mate would tear you to shreds to think such a thing. I suggest you back off if you want any hope of being accepted into this pack.’ Done with her words, the wolf retreated into her human form to rest until it was time to shift.

Giving Dante a grin, Teimhnin spoke. “Welcome to the lands of Venantium. Quite a fortunate set of events. I’m glad you have found what you’re looking for. I take it you’ve come to join the pack, yes? If so, I might as well tell you what we’re all about. First off, we will provide what we can for you but you must take care of your own expenses. It is my job to get you the career of your choice, it is up to you to do the rest.”

Dante looked at the alphess. For the longest moment it didn't fully register what she said. All he knew was he was feeling a little intimidated by the sudden stormy flash of those intense eyes. Sharp let out a faint growl. Seeming put off by her statement.

"Serves you right howler,"Dante muttered, "it is quite fortunate especially with that old clunker of mine." Dante flashed her a nervous smile. Still finding it a little hard to ease into the conversation.
That's what you get for driving a fucking ford, Sharp growled.
"It was cheap and it was the only thing I could afford at the time," Dante growled scowling.

He rubbed his hands over his face.
"Sorry I must seem like a total nut case to you," Dante apologized looking at her. He felt a slight thrill of excitement course through him at her words. It was good to hear those words. He hadn't heard the W word in a very long time.

"Though as socially awkward as I am I do my best work with animals," Dante smiled ,"even cats."
You do cats not me, Sharp growled sounding moody now. A part of him was looking forward to finding a good job and being able to support himself. At least it was get him away from people like his parents and their annoying friends.

The Alphess listened to his interest in animals and was genuinely curious. Her head tilted to the side, for she herself was a lover of animals. Hearing he was alright with cats was slightly impressive, and her mind was quickly forming careers to his likes. She swiftly removed a piece of paper from her purse and scribbled down a few phone numbers. After she had about four, Teimhnin put the piece of paper in his hand and smiled slightly.

“These are the numbers for animal shelters, veterinary clinics, anything of that nature. I know a few people that would most likely give you a job that would benefit you on the best level I can think of. As for your living space, you’ve come to the exact right place.” She pointed at what seemed to be a smaller town within the city they were already in. “That would be where my mate, Alpha Jace, and I have made a small are of buildings that are set away for our members. Choose a place of your liking, it makes no difference to me.”

Standing up from her table, she sipped her delicious coffee and beckoned him to get up as well. Her hair was still tucked in her hat, but a few stray curls had escaped against her wishes. With a sigh the Alphess moved from her place in the coffee shop and out into the cold to show the newcomer what he needed to know.

He shifted slightly uncomfortable. He couldn't tell if the Alphess like him or if she just found his inability to not snap at Sharp overly amusing. Sometimes he wondered if he was just put on this earth to amuse people. Dante frowned looking at her as she pulled a pen out a started scribbling quickly on a piece of paper. What in the world was she doing?

He knew she wasn't giving him her phone number. The last thing he wanted was for Sharp to get on her bad side. If she didn't claw them up her mate sure would. Now weather there was anything left over after that was another question entirely. Dante shifted as she pushed the paper over to him.
Explaining they were numbers of people who could possibly use him on the job.

"Thank you Alphess, thank you very much," Dante smiled taking the proffered paper.
Interesting, I like the way she looks out for her pack members already, Sharp growled. Dante tiled his head curiously as she got to her feet. Area of buildings for pack membersand he got to pick his own place! She kept surprising him more and more by the minute.

Oh yeah and you better not pick out anything girly, Sharp growled.
"If I did it would only be to piss you off," Dante muttered. He scrambled to his feet as the Alphess got up and headed for the door indicating that he should follow. Dante muttered as the stool clattered to the floor. Picking it up he quickly set it back and followed her out the door.

He was going to hold the door open for her but she had beat him to it and had already stepped out. Doing the only thing he could think to do he took to her side closest to the street. The last thing he needed for for someone to loose control of their vehicle on the slick road and run her over. This way he would at least be able to get her out of the way quicker.
Dante shoved his hands in his pockets glancing at her "So enjoying the weather, not to cold for you?"

Gesturing to the buildings, she smiled and nodded for him to look around. Her phone buzzed and alerted her that she was supposed to be going somewhere. There was always something to do and so little time to do it. ‘Just the daily life of an Alphess, at least we aren’t bored.’ Teimhnin smiled to herself and listened to him ask a question about the weather. She tilted her head and thought for a moment before shrugging and nodding “Relatively speaking, I don’t tend to get very cold. Through today is rather nippy, I don’t mind it much. It just keeps you that more willing to rush around.”

Teimhnin took her gloves out of her pocket and slipped them on her hands as she took another sip of her coffee. The addiction to it was strange, though she was never really tired when she began drinking it in the first place. She didn’t tend to think of the matter much, but her quiet demeanor gave her the opportunity to do so. She strolled through the buildings and allowed what was going to be her new member look around for a small while. Finally, she turned and looked to Dante. “Alright, I need to know now that you will pledge yourself to this pack. Do so now, and then I need to be on my way.”

Dante faintly smiled as he walked along side her. This place seemed so big to him. Then again it wasn't really that surprising since he'd been cooped up in his parents place and such a small area to roam.
Dante nodded still smiling "one of the perks of being a wereling you don't get cold very easily, in fact I find the cold rather invigorating."
Getting hot on the other hand is another story entirely, Sharp growled.

Dante grunted looking around at the quiant housing. It was certainly a sight and something that was going to take him some time to get to know his new pack mates.
Dante glanced at the Alphess "you know if I didn't know any better I'd say that coffee has you hooked." He flashed her a charming smile just to show he was kidding. Then continued looking around at the houses.

It was certainly going to take him a moment to find a place with all these choices.
Now look who's flirting, Sharp growled sounding annoyed.
Dante looked up at her not even needing to think about what she said "if I had to kill, even die for this pack to protect it I most certainly would."
Sharp let out a growl seeming for once to agree with him, now you've shown some balls.
"Ah shut up," Dante muttered.

He held his hands up grinning to show he hadn't been talking to her.
Dante shrugged stepping onto the walk of one of the houses "Wolf halves what can you do about them." He rolled his eyes smiling.
