All the trees looked the same. Every bush, tree, leaf, dirt...everything.
Well, to Raven's eyes they were. But sometimes she tends to hallucinate, so it could have just been her Imagination.
Walking barefoot through the woods, she sighed. It had only been hours go since she escaped the hospital, outran the nurse who had the nerve to try and capture Raven herself, and away from the city.
Weaving around a bush and placing a hand on a tree, letting her fingers linger on the rough bark, Raven sighed. She still wore that thin sheet from the hospital, but rearranged it so, it covered her chest, lower back section, but it showed her back and long legs. Which she was okay with.
Showing back and legs wasn't as bad as showing breasts or her bottom.
Keeping a tight hold on the sheet, Raven ran a hand through her tangled, purple hair. She was sure she looked awful. Smeared makeup, pale face, tangled hair, and she was wearing a sheet as a dress. If anyone saw her, they'd be sure to mistake her as a homeless girl, defenseless even, and try and take advantage of her.
So, where are we going? A voice hissed into Raven's mind, and Raven immediately cringed. Laylani had been so quiet for hours, why now would she speak? Oh, I don't know..Raven answered after a short period of time. She didn't really like talking to Laylani. Laylani was mean, always called Raven names, wanted to take control. Worse part, Raven couldn't control Laylani. Laylani usually took control of Raven's body, and got her in trouble.
Raven remembered one time, of the many, when Laylani took over Raven, and got her drunk. Which may not be a totally big deal to...anyone, really. But to Raven it was. She swore to her mother that she'd never drink, and when Raven's makes a promise, she has to keep it.
But ever since Raven was bitten, and Laylani came into her life, Raven's been breaking a lot of promises.
Rubbing her temple with her pointer finger, Raven sighed for what seemed like the..hundredth time. Well, you better figure it out, Girl! We can't just..walk around..all the time. Especially with you being naked! Laylani growled. Raven sighed (Again!) and leaned against a tree, feeling it's hard, cold bark scrap against her bare shoulder.
Laylani, please. I just..got up and left the hospital. You know, just as well as I do, that I had NO time to get clothes.
Raven heard Laylani grunt, but she grew quiet. Shivering as a little breeze blew past, Raven watched a strand of hair lift and fall back down upon her shoulder when the wind died down. She'd never felt so lonely, confused, and as lost as she did then. She had been alone ever since her parents died, yet, nothing felt like this. Right now, it felt like..everything inside Raven was hollow..and she just felt...sad.
Placing the back of her hand on her forehead, she stood now, with her back pressed up against the tree, and slowly sat down.
Where should we go, Laylani? I'm so lost...
Raven lay her head on her knees, feeling tears drip from her eyes and slid down her cheeks, and onto her knees. She didn't even bother to wipe the flood of tears.
Oh, hush. We'll get through this. Just, stop that crying! Laylani's voice demanded. Raven tried to do as she was told, by picking her head up and wiping away the tears. But it seemed hopeless to Raven. Tears she wiped away, only were replaced. She just, couldn't stop crying.
She really just wished she could go back home. Not to her Uncle's. Nope, that place was never home to her, but to her Parent's house, where she should be. They should be alive..
Raven thought about how Elliot would always tease her lovingly, ruffle her hair, pull strands, pinch her sides, call her names, but she never minded. She loved her brother. She loved her strict, yet overprotective father, her book-worm of a mother. Raven missed her old life.
